RIBBON GREENS

Designed Fall 2023

Ribbon Greens, capstone project for my fourth-year studio, lives in Washington, D.C. on a site with an almost twenty-foot elevation change north to south. I wanted to capture this elevation change by creating an interactive path throughout. The lowest two levels house parking garages for residents and users. The middle three floors contain leasable commercial, office, and gym space. 0–3-bedroom apartments make up the top four floors.

This project focused on creating a live-work community for low-income residents. I wanted to accomplish this by creating a single-family home feel with the use of dynamic green space throughout. The movement in the mass of the building came about to capture sunlight in a different way while the indoor-outdoor feel allows wind to streamline.
