Short-Term Faculty Housing

Faculty PERSPECTIVES_1 - Photo.png

Designed Spring 2021

This building is one of four in a revitalization plan of a block in downtown Fargo, North Dakota. It functions as a short-term living facility for colleagues of North Dakota State University or long-term visiting professors. Fargo may not be on every great professor's wish-list, so providing a comfortable place for them to stay and enjoy was an important factor in my design. Short term living makes me imagine solo travelers, so units are one bed or studios. The hallways on the main floor and specifically the second floor are oversized intentionally with large worktables to encourage dwellers to collaborate and get together. The third floor features a community space that continues outdoors onto a roof top deck that connects to a neighboring assisted living building.

This project was created with Revit & Lumion.
